A multi-rotor near-infrared probe for high-sensitivity imaging of mitochondrial viscosity in epilepsy

Abstract

A mitochondria-targeted near-infrared fluorescent probe (Cy-TPE) is developed for mitochondrial viscosity imaging. A TICT-mediated multi-rotor architecture markedly enhances sensitivity to subtle viscosity changes, while persistent mitochondrial targeting enables long-term imaging. Cy-TPE visualizes elevated mitochondrial viscosity in epileptic neurons and mouse hippocampus in vivo.
