Dual-functional structural modulation for stabilizing sodium layered oxide cathodes

Abstract

A dual-functional structural modulation strategy was developed for sodium layered oxide cathodes via synergistic doping with W and B to form the inert Na2WO4 phase and strong B–O bonds, which can resist irreversible phase transitions and stabilize the crystal structure. This concurrent action enhances Na-ion diffusion kinetics and crystal structural stability, resulting in improved rate capability and cycling performance.
