Copper phyllosilicate and CeO2 integrated catalyst for the rapid catalytic transfer hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol†

Abstract

The hierarchal integrated xCuPs/CeO2 catalysts were synthesized by assembling copper phyllosilicate onto CeO2 via an ammonia-evaporation hydrothermal method. Contributing to the synergistic Cu0/Cu+ sites and Cu-O–Ce/Si interfaces, the integrated 25CuPs/CeO2 catalyst achieved a furfuryl alcohol yield of 99% with furfural conversion of >99% in the catalytic transfer hydrogenation.
