Synthesis of Hybrid Nickel Boron-Oxo Clusters for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

Abstract

A series of organic ligand-stabilized nickel boron-oxo clusters were synthesized, demonstrating in situ evolution from simple organoboronic acids to complex structural motifs. Among them, the quinoline-pyrazole protected boron-oxygen cluster, Ni(II)2[B3O3(OH)2Qi(Pz)2]2 (BOC-22) exhibits excellent performance in the photocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction with CO and CH4 as main carbonaceous products.
