Heterometallic Molecular Ni-Salen Catalysts for Efficient Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Reaction
Abstract
We report salen-based heterometallic Ni-complexes for the electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Complex 4 manifested 50 mA cm-2 at 350 mV overpotential following the lattice oxygen mechanism (LOM). Additionally, it showed excellent stability for 24 hours for OER. Electrochemical analysis revealed the creation of a 4/Ni(O)OH heterointerface, which acts as an active catalyst for OER.
