Lewis acid-switched regiodivergent N1/N2-alkylation of benzotriazoles with α-hydroxyl diazo compounds

Abstract

Herein, we report a Lewis acid switching strategy that enables programmable selectivity between kinetically controlled N1 alkylation and thermodynamically favored N2 alkylation using α-hydroxyl diazo compounds as versatile electrophiles.
