Abstract

Stepwise intercalation of I⁻ followed by Cl⁻ in fluorinated graphite (CF_x) forms [F₄ICl]⁻ and [F₄ICl₂]⁻ clusters, where I⁻ acts as a clustering center promoting the charge redistribution.
