Multifunctional Applications of Difluoroboron β-diketonate Complexes

Abstract

Difluoroboron β-diketonate complexes (BF2bdks) are a versatile class of luminescent materials, notable for their high fluorescence quantum yields, excellent photostability, and tunable emission properties. Driven by advances in molecular design and materials processing, BF2bdks have demonstrated great potential across diverse application fields. This review summarizes recent progress in their implementation, including organic room-temperature phosphorescent materials, stimuli-responsive materials, optoelectronic devices, and luminescent probes. Representative examples are highlighted to illustrate the key structure–property relationships, notable performance improvements, and emerging design strategies. By providing a concise yet comprehensive overview of the application landscape, this review aims to inspire further exploration of BF2bdk-based optical materials.
