Sulfonate ester electrolyte regulates Li+ desolvation energy to construct high-rate aqueous lithium-ion batteries

Abstract

A sulfonate ester is introduced in aqueous electrolyte to partially pull H2O out of Li+ inner solvating shell and allow more anions participated in. With less de-solvation barriers and in-organic rich SEI/CEI layers for Mn dissolution suppression, LMO||LTO cell in presents ultra-high-rate performances and excellent cycling stability.
