Red CPL from water insoluble achiral carbon dots assisted by cyclodextrin MOF Templating

Abstract

Achiral water-insoluble red carbon dots (CDs) with improved quantum yield were prepared by co-pyrolysis of sodium lignosulfonate and 1,8-diamine naphthalene. Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) from achiral CDs was induced by the first preparation of polymorphism of cyclodextrin metal organic framework (MOF), which could load water-insoluble CDs effectively. This work provides the possibility for CDs to utilize novel chiral templates.
