Quantitative Evaluation of Intermolecular Interactions in Fe(III) Spin Crossover Systems via Metal Dilution

Abstract

Intermolecular interactions in Fe(III) spin crossover (SCO) systems were quantitatively evaluated via Ga(III)/Al(III) metal dilution. Magnetic susceptibility analysis using a thermodynamic model provided the energy shift (Δ) and interaction constant (Γ). Nearly identical Γ values for both systems demonstrate a simple and universal approach for assessing cooperativity in SCO materials.
