Enhancing the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction on Ru/KTN through an RuClx Intermediate Strategy

Abstract

A RuClₓ intermediate strategy was employed to synthesize a Ru/KTN-T catalyst for alkaline hydrogen evolution reactions. The Ru/KTN-T, containing high-valent Ru, enhanced the hydrogen desorption kinetics. This catalyst achieved a low overpotential of 40.6 mV at 10 mA cm−2, outperforming similar catalysts synthesized via one-step methods and providing a novel approach for designing efficient electrocatalysts.
