Turn-On Ratiometric Ag⁺ Sensing Aids In Situ Synthesis of NIR Emissive Silver Nanoclusters
Abstract
The donor-acceptor probe based on N-ethylcarbazole and thiobarbituric acid senses Ag+ ions through turn-on, ratiometric fluorescence, and the binding results in the reduction of Ag + into luminescent silver nanoclusters. The nanoclusters have tunable emission in the visible-NIR region, which can be formed in situ, without requiring additional reducing agents.
