Optimizing the amino terminal Cu(ii)- and Ni(ii)-binding (ATCUN) motif for Cu(ii) complexes with improved inertness
Abstract
The inertness of copper(II) complexes can be critical for applications such as 64Cu positron emission tomography (PET). Sequence analysis of the simple peptidic amino terminal Cu(II)- and Ni(II)-binding (ATCUN) motif showed a significant improvement by introducing a tryptophan at position 4, and a stronger influence of position 2 over 1.
