Application of spraying based liquid microextraction coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry for the determination of dipropetryn at trace levels in corn flour samples

Abstract

This study outlines a sensitive analytical methodology for the determination of dipropetryn at trace levels in corn flour samples. In the scope of this study, spraying based liquid phase microextraction (SB-LPME) was performed to preconcentrate trace levels of dipropetryn by means of a lab-made spraying apparatus. Analytical method performance of the optimized SB-LPME-GC-MS method was examined and limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantitation (LOQ) and linear range were figured out to be 0.39 µg kg–1, 1.31 µg kg–1 and 1.11-102.5 µg kg–1, respectively. The presented method was applied to corn flour samples spiked to five different concentrations (approximately 2.5-50 µg kg–1). Percent recovery results between 91.0% and 121.4% verified the accuracy and feasibility of the SB-LPME-GC-MS method. There is no study regarding the quantitation of dipropetryn at trace levels in corn flour samples by the SB-LPME-GC-MS method. The environmental friendliness of the developed SB-LPME-GC-MS method was confirmed by Eco-scale analytical tool.
