Flexible single-crystal fibers of tetraphenylphosphonium iodide for stimulated Raman scattering

Abstract

High-quality flexible tetraphenylphosphonium iodide (TppI) single-crystal fibers (SCFs) are successfully obtained through seeded rapid growth in solution at room temperature. TppI SCFs exhibit a distinct crystal structure and high heat stability. Excellent guided-wave propagation and effective stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) frequency conversion of a continuous-wave (CW) 531.8 nm laser are achieved in flexible TppI SCFs. Given these remarkable properties, organic nonlinear SCFs hold great potential for applications in developing wavelength-tunable Raman microlasers for the integrity of on-chip devices.
