Hierarchical Cu-gallate-based mesh membrane for oil/water separation

Abstract

A hierarchical Cu-gallate-based mesh membrane was synthesized on macroporous copper mesh substrate via mesoporous copper hydroxide transition layer. The resulting hierarchical pore structure and enhanced hydrophilicity enabled exceptional water flux alongside high separation efficiency for oil-water mixtures. These results significantly surpassed the performance limits of current state-of-the-art MOF membranes. Our findings highlight the promise of this hierarchical membrane for the efficient treatment of industrial oily wastewater.
