High Proton Conductivity in Nb5+-doped BaScO2.5

Abstract

We report high bulk proton conductivity (e.g., 0.01 S cm−1 at 320 °C) of pentavalent donor doped BaScO2.5, BaSc0.75Nb0.25O2.75. The high proton conductivity is attributable to high proton concentration due to a large amount of oxygen vacancies and high proton diffusion coefficient due to the reduced proton trapping.
