Piezo-photocatalytic treatment of acetaminophen-contaminated wastewater using Fe0.33V2O5
Abstract
A Fe0.33V2O5-based piezoelectric photocatalytic system was developed. Two distinct iron vanadate structures (Fe0.33V2O5 and Fe2V4O13) were synthesized through different annealing temperatures. The Fe0.33V2O5 obtained at 250 °C exhibited superior piezoelectric performance compared to Fe2V4O13 due to structural differences. Fe0.33V2O5-250 °C (FVO-250 °C) demonstrated enhanced carrier separation efficiency and broad light absorption range, achieving 90% acetaminophen degradation within 40 minutes through efficient piezo-photocatalytic synergy. PL and electrochemical tests proved that FVO-250 °C moves charges better than other catalysts. PFM tests clearly showed that FVO-250 °C has much stronger piezoelectricity than FVO-450 °C.
