Abstract

Herein, a novel fluorine-chlorine exchange process during the acylation of 6-fluoronicotinic acid has been discovered, it presents a new strategy of using hydrochloride as a potential chlorinating reagent in the F/Cl exchange reaction of pyridine heterocyclic compounds.
