Non-noble metal-loaded Schiff base-based covalent organic polymers as efficient electrocatalysts for the OER

Abstract

Herein, a Schiff-base covalent organic polymer (COP) was synthesized via condensation of 2,4,6-tris-(2-methoxy-4-formyl-phenoxy)-1,3,5-triazine and 2,6-diaminoanthraquinone, followed by metal incorporation (Fe/Co/Ni) to prepare M-COPs. Fe-COP demonstrated superior OER performance with a low overpotential of 233 mV at 10 mA cm−2 and a Tafel slope of 54.6 mV dec−1, highlighting non-noble metal COPs as efficient, economical electrocatalysts.
