Pd-catalyzed hydroesterification of 1,1-disubstituted terminal olefins with aryl formates

Abstract

A variety of 1,1-disubstituted terminal olefins can be efficiently hydroesterified with Pd(OAc)2-DPEphos and aryl formates to give the corresponding carboxylic esters bearing various functional groups in good yields. The reaction process is operationally simple and requires no handling of toxic CO gas or strong acid.
