Preparation of a NH2-UiO-66/BiOCl0.3Br0.7 (NU/BiOCl0.3Br0.7) Z-scheme heterogeneous photocatalyst for degradation of antibiotics by one-pot electrostatic adsorption

Abstract

In this paper, based on the principle of electrostatic adsorption, a Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst, NU/BiOClxBr1−x, was constructed by controllable deposition of NH2-UiO-66 octahedral cubes on 3D flower shaped BiOClxBr1−x using a one pot solvothermal method. Under visible light irradiation, the photocatalytic degradation effect of composite materials on tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) is significantly improved. Within 120 minutes of visible light irradiation, the removal effect of NU/BiOCl0.3Br0.7 on TCH is as high as 94.88%, which is about twice, 1.6 times, and 86 times that of pure BiOCl, pure BiOCl0.3Br0.7, and NH2-UiO-66, respectively. This is due to the formation of a large number of close contact interfaces in the heterostructure of the composite material, which not only further increases the specific surface area and promotes the increase of surface active sites, but also, more importantly, establishes an enhanced interfacial electric field, thereby promoting the transfer of carriers at the interface. In addition, capture experiments have shown that O2 and h+ are key active substances in photocatalytic degradation, and this study is expected to provide new ideas for efficient photocatalytic remediation of antibiotic containing wastewater.
