Facile time-controlled synthesis of two-dimensional Zr-perylenediimide MOF nanosheets for ultrasensitive DNA fluorescent biosensing

Abstract

This study reports a surfactant-free synthesis of two-dimensional Zr-perylenediimide (PDI) metal–organic framework nanosheets (∼17 nm thick). Characterization confirms their crystallinity. By exploiting their superior fluorescence quenching and selectivity over the bulk material, we developed a fluorescent biosensor that achieved sensitive target DNA detection and effectively discriminated single-base mismatched DNA and random DNA.
