Circular Polarized Luminescent Framework Materials: From Synthesis to Future Applications
Abstract
Circularly polarized luminescent (CPL) materials have attracted much attention in recent years due to their simultaneous chirality and luminescence, which have a wide range of applications in the fields of chiroptical sensors, three-dimensional optical display, information storage, and chemical sensing. The research on CPL materials is mainly devoted to achieving high dissymmetry factor (glum) with high photoluminescence quantum efffciency (PLQY, Φ (λ)) enhancement. Study shows that framework materials are good choices to enhance the performance of both. In this review, we summarize the common methods of preparing CPL-active framework materials according to different synthesis mechanisms and review the research progress of various framework materials. Furthermore, we discuss the applications of composite materials in areas such as sensing detection, generating white circularly polarized light, and anti-counterfeiting over the past few years, and provide a perspective to the future development in CPL research field.
