Comment on “Unravelling the kinetics, isotherms, thermodynamics, and mass transfer behaviours of Zeolite Socony Mobil – 5 in removing hydrogen sulphide resulting from a dark fermentative biohydrogen production process” by M. K. A. Asman et al., Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2024, 26, 20409
Abstract
This critique identifies methodological flaws in the analysis of hydrogen sulfide adsorption on a zeolite adsorbent, as reported by Asman et al. [Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2024, 26, 20409–20426]. Key concerns include fundamental errors in the formulation of both the Temkin adsorption isotherm and the Weber–Morris intraparticle diffusion model, along with inconsistencies in thermodynamic calculations. These flaws undermine the reliability of the study's findings and diminish its contribution to hydrogen sulfide adsorption research.
