CoSe2 hollow nanoboxes for enhanced electrocatalytic nitrate reduction toward ammonia synthesis
Abstract
Herein, CoSe2 supported on hollow nanobox carbon is developed as a high-performance catalyst for nitrate electroreduction. The observed catalytic activity is mainly influenced by the hollow CoSe2 nanostructure, which effectively increases the availability of active sites, as well as the conductive nitrogen-doped carbon matrix that facilitates charge transfer. As a result, the catalyst achieves a maximum faradaic efficiency of 88.1% and an impressive NH3 yield rate of 573.4 μmol h−1 mg−1.
