A general iron-catalyzed highly selective mono- and bis-alkylation of indene using primary and secondary alcohols

Abstract

Herein we have demonstrated the first iron catalyzed a general and highly selective C3-mono- and C1/C3-bis-alkylation of indene using primary and secondary alkyl alcohols. Mechanistic studies and control experiments established the HB-strategy for the alkylation of indene.
