Integration of perylene diimide into a two-dimensional cobalt–organic framework for enhanced photocatalysis

Abstract

A two-dimensional cobalt–perylene diimide (Co–PDI) framework was constructed by incorporating a photoactive PDI-based tetracarboxylic acid linker (H4PDI–Naphth). Co–PDI demonstrated superior photocatalytic activity over the monomer H4PDI–Naphth in both the C-3 thiocyanation of indoles and the condensation of 2-aminobenzenethiol with aromatic aldehydes.
