Synthesis and characterization of a low-valent uranium complex supported by a redox-active molybdenum oxide metalloligand

Abstract

Investigation of the reactivity of the redox-active molybdenum oxide cluster, Image ID:d5cc05531h-t1.gif, toward low-valent uranium (Image ID:d5cc05531h-t2.gif, bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) is reported. Structural and spectroscopic analyses provide insight into the interactions of the actinide and metalloligand in the product, Image ID:d5cc05531h-t3.gif. Reactivity studies reveal the metalloligand functions as a redox reservoir for uranium.
