Enlarging the redox energy level gap to improve the structural stability in wide-voltage layered sodium cathodes
Abstract
Extending the voltage window is beneficial for increasing the energy density, but it also imposes more complex structural evolution in P2-type layered oxides. This study enables reversible redox chemistry in a wide voltage range by enlarging the energy level gap between Fe and Mn 3d orbitals, which provides an essential reference for optimizing sodium-ion battery cathodes.
