Ultra-strong, transparent amorphous polymers rapidly fabricated via methyl-β-cyclodextrin-functionalized eutectic systems
Abstract
An ultra-strong (∼400 MPa) and highly transparent (>90%) amorphous polymer is reported, fabricated via rapid photopolymerization. The in situ functionalization of methyl-β-cyclodextrin into a nano-crosslinker was enabled by a eutectic systerm, creating a percolating nanostructured hard-phase network responsible for the exceptional mechanical properties.
