Solvent-regulated electro-oxidation of iodide and its electrocatalytic performance towards acetylacetone oxidation
Abstract
Solvent-regulated iodide electro-oxidation and its electrocatalysis for acetylacetone oxidation are presented. Solvent Donor Number (DN) and polarity govern iodine species stability, while water in medium-polar solvents with moderate DN enhances electrocatalytic activity, with increased current and unexpected cathodic shift of onset potential, revealing a novel solvent-tuning phenomenon.
