Hydrogen-Bonded Organic Frameworks Leveraging Lewis Basic Motifs for High-Capacity Iodine Capture

Abstract

Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) possess great potential for addressing the threat of radioactive iodine. Here we reported a π-electron-enriched HOF incorporating pyridine nodes as an efficient and recyclable iodine capture platform. Such HOF (abbreviated as HOF-d) exhibited a remarkable iodine vapor adsorption capacity of 4.0 g∙g-1 with exceptional stability, easy preparation, desirable regenerability and recyclability.
