Synthesis and Reactivity of Acyclic Heterotrinuclear Metal Complexes

Abstract

Heterobimetallic complexes [L1(Et)MZn(Et)] (M = Al 1a, Ga 1b; L1 = {HC(C(CH3)N(Dipp))2}, Dipp = 2,6-iPr2-C6H3) and heterotrinuclear complexes [L1(Et)GaZnM(Et)L1] (M = Al 2a, Ga 2b) and [L1(Et)GaZnSi(Et)L2] (2c; L2 = {N(Dipp))C(CH3)CHC(CH2)(N(Dipp)}) were synthesized by stepwise oxidative addition reactions of ZnEt2 with heavy carbene analogues and fully characterized including single crystal X-ray diffraction (sc-XRD). Reactions of 2c with B(C6F5)3, NH3 and PhCH2OH are also reported.
