A new interphase enabled by CaI2 and Ca(BH4)2 for reversible calcium metal anodes

Abstract

This work proposes a novel calcium metal battery electrolyte (CaI2/DMAc) to allow Ca2+ migration through CaI2/Ca(BH4)2/boride hybrid SEIs, which enables the calcium metal anode to achieve low overpotential and cycling stability for more than 800 hours, and a wide temperature range from −20 °C to 50 °C.
