Planar chiral orange-red TADF materials with AIE properties for efficient circularly polarized OLEDs

Abstract

Two planar chiral thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters featuring aggregation-induced emission characteristics were disclosed. Non-doped organic light-emitting diodes based on these emitters show external quantum efficiencies of 8.1% and 8.8%, with small efficiency roll-off. Their enantiomer-based devices exhibit strong circularly polarized electroluminescent signals with dissymmetry values of up to 2.1 × 10−3.
