A near-infrared light-triggered covalent nanodrug for combined singlet oxygen therapy and photothermal therapy†
Abstract
Using endoperoxides, which can liberate singlet oxygen via a cycloreversion reaction, represents a promising strategy for cancer therapy. In this study, we designed a novel near-infrared (NIR) light-triggered covalent nanodrug that integrates singlet oxygen release along with photothermal effects, which not only enhances anticancer outcomes but also allows for reduced dosage and administration frequency. The NIR light-triggered covalent nanodrug presents substantial potential for the development of long-acting platforms for disease imaging and therapy.
