Metal-free photocatalytic oxidative coupling of cyclic ethers and alcohols

Abstract

The development of visible-light-induced oxidative coupling of cyclic ethers and alcohols by a modified acridinium photocatalyst is reported. The transformation combines hydrogen atom transfer catalysis and photoredox catalysis. This metal-free strategy highlights the mild nature of the reaction conditions and shows a broad substrate scope.
