A highly stable LiNO3/N-methylacetamide deep eutectic electrolyte for rechargeable Li–O2 batteries

Abstract

A deep eutectic electrolyte (DEE) based on LiNO3N-methylacetamide (NMA) was developed for Li–O2 batteries. The strong hydrogen bonding interactions within the electrolyte enable a high LiNO3 concentration of 3.2 M, which not only enhances the compatibility with the lithium anode but also serves as an efficient oxidation mediator. The resulting battery exhibited excellent cycling stability, achieving 380 cycles at 200 mA g−1 with a capacity of 1000 mA h g−1, demonstrating its potential for high-performance Li–O2 battery applications.
