Cys-lighted near-infrared fluorescence for guiding orthotopic liver tumor resection

Abstract

In this study, we developed two NIR fluorescent probes, denoted as MOR-A and MOR-F, for imaging cysteine (Cys) in vitro. Among the two, MOR-A demonstrated superior performance for imaging Cys in vivo and effectively guided a surgical resection of an orthotopic liver tumor with a diameter of 6.3 mm. We expect that our probe will serve as a powerful tool for image-guided surgical procedures in the near future.
