Ni-decorated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) derived from ethanol for electrooxidation of furan derivatives featuring H2 production

Abstract

This study explores advancements in the concurrent biorefinery and hydrogen production using Ni-decorated CNTs derived from bioethanol as electrocatalysts, showing the complete conversion of furan derivatives to desired products with 95-97% selectivity and hydrogen production rate of 75 µmol.h-1. These findings highlight the simultaneous upgrading of biomass-derived compounds and hydrogen production.
