A NiCo2S4 octahedral configuration doped by Mn, Zn and Cu for the oxygen evolution reaction

Abstract

Transition metals with similar atomic radius were used for doping spinel NiCo2S4 to adjust the octahedral configuration. Mn dopants adjusted the morphology and surface charge distribution, and optimized the electron transport and catalytic activity of the surface site. Mn–NiCo2S4 showed an OER overpotential of 269 mV and water splitting voltage of 1.59 V.
