An Fe–Mn–S SOD-like nanozyme as an efficient antibacterial agent

Abstract

Herein, based on a coordination-precipitation strategy, we have developed a Fe–Mn–S SOD-like nanozyme, which can catalyze the decomposition of ˙O2 and exhibited broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus), Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia and Proteus strains) and drug-resistant bacteria (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA).
