Reply to the ‘Comment on “Strong Be–Be bonds in double-aromatic bridged Be2(μ-SO) molecules”’ by A. Guha, Dalton Transactions, 2023, 52, D3DT00774J

Abstract

Recently, Ankur Kanti Guha suggested in his comment that (1) some calculation reveals that there is no Be–Be interaction in our proposed cluster, (2) the calculated Wiberg bond index of the Be–Be is very small (0.01), indicating that there is no interaction between the Be atoms, and (3) the proposed bridged structure is energetically very high in the potential energy surface. We have attempted to answer these points.
