NiMo2S4 microspheres as cathode materials for flexible capacitors

Abstract

It is well known that supercapacitors possess high power densities. However, their practical applications are largely limited by their low energy densities and poor cycling stabilities. Therefore, it is vital to rationally design electrode materials with excellent electrochemical performances. In this work, we synthesize a NiMo2S4 sphere-like structure with a large specific surface area. Several hybrid devices are assembled using the prepared samples as positive electrode materials. The devices deliver a capacitance of 150 C g−1 at 1 A g−1 and maintain 82.9% of the initial capacitance after 10 000 cycles. This demonstrates their potential applications in wearable energy storage devices.
