Metal–organic framework based on flexible ligands and CoII–CoII–CoII system: selective gas adsorption and magnetic properties†
Abstract
Two flexible ligands, 4,4′,4′′-(nitrilotris(methylene))tribenzoic acid (H3TCBA) and 1,4-bis((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl)benzene (BMB) have been used to construct a three-dimensional MOF with Co(NO3)2·6H2O through solvothermal techniques. The MOF is formulated as {[Co3(TCBA)2·BMB]·3DMF·8H2O}n (1). Topological analysis reveals that 1 is a 3,8-connected new net with point symbol {42·6}2{44·610·79·85}. The MOF has been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy (IR), thermogravimetry analysis (TGA), elemental analysis, UV-visible spectrum, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), variable-temperature X-ray powder diffraction (VXRD). In addition, selective gas adsorption and magnetic properties of 1 have been explored.
