Heterocyclic compounds bearing s-triazine and cyclotriphosphazene scaffolds: facile synthesis, hydrogen-bonded organic framework construction and fluorescent amine sensing

Abstract

The development of fluorescent heterocyclic compounds bearing s-triazine and cyclotriphosphazene scaffolds for researching the structure–property relationship and high-efficiency amine sensing is still challenging. Herein, we prepared two polypodal aldehyde-based flexible organic compounds based on triazine and cyclotriphosphazene units (TRIPOD and HAPCP). Moreover, two hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks, namely HOF-TRIPOD and HOF-HAPCP, with different photophysical properties and structural packing modes were obtained. In addition, the fluorescence response of the two molecules to aliphatic amine was studied, in which they all showed good selectivity and an obvious fluorescence enhancement effect to ethylenediamine. The utilization of these fluorescent molecules as a sensor platform material could be applied for ethylenediamine detection.
