Green synthesis of nano-Al2O3, recent functionalization, and fabrication of synthetic or natural polymer nanocomposites: various technological applications
Abstract
Alumina nanoparticles (Al2O3 NPs) are one of the most extensively used nano-metallic oxides and nanofillers due to their fascinating properties in everyday applications. Furthermore, polymeric nanocomposites (PNCs) containing Al2O3 NPs as a filler have promising properties such as excellent thermal, mechanical, electrical and optical properties, and so on. Owing to the importance of this field, in the first section of this review, green synthesis, dispersion, and functionalization of Al2O3 NPs are studied since 2015. In the second section, the properties and utilization of different man-made or natural polymer matrixes containing Al2O3 NPs are studied, and then the effects of this extraordinary nanofiller on some prevalent PNCs are highlighted. It is followed by the perusal of the special uses of Al2O3 NPs in the dispersion of NPs in diverse media, elimination of pollutants, for instance, heavy metal ions and organic compounds, biomedicine, and also miscellaneous applications.
