Cocrystal hydrate of Bandrowski's base and clotrimazole: a prospective ingredient for hair dye formulations

Abstract

The serendipitous formation of Bandrowski's base, an oxidized trimer of p-phenylenediamine, a backbone molecule of the hair dye industry, in the presence of the antifungal/antidandruff agent clotrimazole, and the subsequent formation of a cocrystal has the potential of leading to a new group of commercially important formulations.
